LAP SWIMMING ETIQUETTE

Basic lap swimming etiquette is as follows: Lanes are designated as slow, medium and fast, the slowest being at the outside of the pool. Please choose a lane compatible with your speed. If two people are in a lane, you split the lane, i.e., each person takes a side. If three or more are in a lane, you “circle swim” in a counterclockwise direction. When entering a lane already occupied, you may sit on the edge of the pool, wave a kickboard underwater or stand in the water in the corner of the lane until the person swimming acknowledges you. And speaking of kickboards (and pull buoys)... lap swimmers are welcome to use them; just please return them to their proper locations. The Aquatics staff and lifeguards are available to answer any questions you have.
