House Rules

Club Access and Membership Cards

All members must enter and exit the building through the main entrance or the tennis entrance. Your membership card must be presented each time you enter the club. The card is for the sole use by the member whose name appears on the card. Unauthorized use of the card by persons other than an LRAC member will result in termination of membership. Replacement of a lost, stolen, or destroyed membership card requires a $10.00 replacement fee.

Medical Clearance

Individuals who join the LRAC are required to complete a Personal Health form. A strong recommendation will be made for anyone possessing three or more risk factors to take a Graded Exercise Test and have physician approval prior to joining the club.

Guest Policy

All guests must be accompanied by a member and sign in at the Service Desks. Children under age 15 will be charged a $5 usage fee (maximum of two guests). Adult guests will be charged a $10 usage fee. A $15 guest fee will be assessed to any guest utilizing the club after five visits in a calendar year. Guests are not allowed to make court reservations and must abide by all rules/regulations of the club.

Membership

A) Categories

1) Individual Membership:

An Individual membership will be applicable only to the named individual. Spouse or children, if any, of the individual member shall not be entitled to the rights and privileges of this membership, except as guests, and are subject to the guest policies established by the club.

2) Single Parent

An Individual member may add a dependent(s) (under age 19) to their membership by paying $10.00 per dependent per month.

3) Family Membership:

A Family membership is defined as any married couple or any two adults from the same immediate family (i.e. sister/brother, mother/daughter). Children, of family members who are under 19 and considered dependents are entitled to use of the club under the existing policies and procedures.

* Dependent Children (under age 15) who are residents of the immediate household shall have use of the facilities without additional charge. However, children may only use the club under the direct supervision of a parent or in a club supervised program.

* Young Adults (15-18 years) are able to use the club unsupervised. Upon turning 15, dependents are required to obtain a photo ID card from the Membership Office and must present it at the Service Desk to obtain entry to the club.

* Families with Young Adults (19-24 years) may have use of the facility for an increased membership fee of $25 per month.

4) Senior Membership:

Memberships for persons age 62 or older are available for a 20% discount from the current joining fees and monthly dues.

B) Membership Fees

1) Fee Changes:

All joining fees, monthly membership dues and club charges are subject to change and will be determined by management. Members will be appropriately notified of such changes.

2) Membership Status Change:

Individual members who change to a Family Membership must pay the joining fee difference to upgrade their membership. The new monthly dues will be charged to the member accordingly.

3) Payment:

All bills are due and payable within 30 days of the date billed. All accounts not paid in full within 60 days of the date billed, will be subject to a delinquent charge of 1% monthly (12% annually). Any member whose account remains unpaid 60 days after the date billed, will be terminated. Membership dues are automatically collected by either bank draft or credit card. Repayment of the joining fee will be required to rejoin the club.

4) Dependent Rates:

Each dependent who reaches the age of 25 years must convert his/her membership to an adult membership. The joining fee in such cases will be waived if the dependent was paid for as a Family member up to their 25th birthday.

C) General Membership Information

1) Change of Address:

Members will provide written notice to the club of any change of address. All communications shall be presumed to have been received by the member within five days of mailing to the address on the Membership Application.

2) Membership Cancellation/Termination:

To properly terminate a membership, the member is required to submit the request in writing, return all issued cards, and bring their account balance to zero. A 30 day notice is required.

3) Membership Reactivation:

Members who cancel their membership and wish to rejoin the club may do so by paying the appropriate joining fee currently in effect or the back dues that would cover the amount of time the membership was not active.

4) Damage To Club Property:

Damage to club property willl be paid for by any member who willfully or neglectfully causes such damage. Members are responsible for damage incurred by dependent children.

5) Club Usage:

All members use the club facilities at their own risk. The club is not responsible for any injuries sustained while using the facilities.

6) Governing Rights:

Membership does not confer or include interest of ownership in the facilities or assets of the LRAC. Membership grants no right to govern or control the affairs of the club. No member may sell or transfer his or her membership.

7) Membership Freeze/Leave Policy:

A member may freeze his/her membership for a maximum of 1 year for a medical condition or temporary job transfer. A written statement from a physician or employer is needed to verify the request. A member on leave will have their membership automatically terminated if they have not reactivated their membership after one year.

D) General Member Rules

All members are subject to the general rules and policies established by Management. These rules and policies are subject to change at the discretion of Management.

1) Consideration of Fellow Members

Proper etiquette, language, and courtesy are to be observed at all times. This includes proper conduct and relinquishing of courts on schedule. LRAC Management reserves the right to ask member(s) to leave the club premises if proper conduct is not being observed.

2) Exercise Attire

Proper footwear must be worn for the facilities being used. Only court or aerobics shoes are allowed in the aerobics studio or on the basketball floor. No shoes that mark these floors will be permitted. Proper attire must be worn at all times for the activities or sports being played. Men must wear shirts at all times, unless playing in a shirt and skins basketball game.

3) Track

Please be aware of runners and walkers on the track. Runners and walkers have the right-of-way so use caution before entering the weight area. Walkers stay on the inside lane, and runners stay on the outside lanes. Track directions rotate daily, please walk or run in the direction so that you can read the pace clock as you pass it.

4) Equipment Sign-up Sheets

Occasionally during peak hours it is necessary to limit time spent on cardiovascular equipment to 30 minutes only. Sign-up sheets, which correspond to specific pieces of cardiovascular equipment have been placed around each cardiovascular area. Members are asked to follow the sign-up instructions for using this equipment. Please adhere to the designated 30 minute time period when a member is signed-up after you. A five minute grace period for late arrivals to the equipment will be allowed.

5) Locker Rooms

Members and guests wishing to use the locker rooms will receive a locker key and towel(s) upon check-in at the Front Desk. An LRAC membership card or photo ID is needed to obtain a locker key. Upon completion of your workout, please return the locker key to a Front Desk attendant in exchange for your membership card or photo ID.

No one under 15 years of age is allowed a day locker.

Each locker room is equipped with a whirpool, steam room, and dry sauna. Please shower before entering the whirpool. Shaving in the steam room or whirpool is not permitted.

6) Lost and Found

Inquires regarding lost articles should be made at the Front Desk. For your protection, valuables will be locked in a safe located in the Business Office. Any items that are found should be returned to the Front Desk. The Little Rock Athletic Club is not responsible for lost items.

7) Smoking and Alcoholic Beverages

Smoking is not permitted in the club. Alcoholic beverages will only be served and consumed within designated areas.
