Organized Activities for Member Children Ages 12 to 14
Monday - Friday • 12:30 to 4:30 pm • Starting Monday, June 3
The mission of Flex Time (FT) is to have fun through fitness (with special emphasis on broadening children’s exposure to active lifestyles), help kids meet members their age and prepare them for responsible and complete usage of the Club as adults.
Each week, FT will focus on different fitness/lifestyle activities including but not limited to hiking, running, biking, swimming and rock climbing. “Flex Timers” will hear from specialists and participate in workouts designed around the week’s theme. The workouts, which will often times be led by group exercise instructors hand picked because of their expertise in certain areas, will prove exciting and challenging.
Flex Time is about practical application as well as theory. For a fee participants will have the opportunity to go on field trips to Pinnacle Mountain, Two Rivers, the Rock Climbing Center and other locales to obtain firsthand experience with the theme of each week.
Each day Flex Timers will have free-time in the Club. This is their opportunity to use the Club on their own (with certain restrictions as identified on the Consent Form) and get to know one another better.
In short, your child will leave the program in better physical condition, will be more knowledgeable about a variety of fitness activities, will be ready for the responsibility of adult membership at the age of 15 and will have met some friends along the way.
While Flex Time is a drop-in service, organizers appreciate notice as to when your child will be in attendance. (This structure is subject to change if the number of regular attendees passes a certain mark.) The easiest method of notification is for your child to let our staff know if he/she will be in attendance the following day. However, if you are going to be attending less regularly, please give Paul Fajer, the program coordinator, a courtesy email.
Finally, children should check in at the Front Desk and meet in the Tennis Lounge (the area immediately behind Blue Court Grill) at 12:30 pm. Children should be picked up in the Tennis Lounge PROMPTLY at 4:30. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Paul Fajer at 225-3600.

Our Stroke Technique camp has helped over 1000 children learn proper technique for the competitive strokes. The 2013 theme OUT IN SPACE! promises to be as fun (and zany) as years past. During the camp we cover a “stroke per day” teaching the correct pull patterns, kicks, recovery positions, breathing and stroke tempo. But it’s not all work - coaches and swimmers alike will have a blast. (Can you say asteroid attack?) Participants must be water safe and have had swim instruction through the Sting Ray (or equivalent) level. The Stroke Technique Registration Form is available at www.dolphin-laser.com under the “Join Us” button. For more information, contact Coach Tay at 225-5711. Please complete the Stroke Technique Registration Form and return it to Coach Tay at the LRRC.
