JEFF GLASBRENNER IS CELEBRATING A BIG ANNIVERSARY

It's been 30 years since member and inspiration, Jeff Glasbrenner, lost his leg in a farming accident at the age of 8. Instead of feeling sorry for himself, Jeff is competing (and completing) 8 Ironman Triathlons in 8 months! The Club is sponsoring this endeavor. ARKANSAS NTRP / OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP (Closed)

Annually, this tournament draws 225+ entries and offers the most competitive play of our tennis year. Entry deadline is Tuesday, August 10, at 6:00 pm and MUST BE COMPLETED ONLINE. The draw will be announced Thursday, August 12, at noon. Players may enter up to two events. For more information, contact the Tennis Desk at 501-225-3600.

SINGLE TIME SWING LESSONS

Watch Dancing with the Stars on Monday night and learn how to do it yourself on Tuesdays at the Club. Classes are taught by Little Rock’s most sought after instructor, "Latin Louie" Bianco. Class meets Tuesdays from 8:15 to 10:00 pm. No experience required. Couples only please. Contact Lisa Cooper to register, 225-3601, ext. 318, or via email at lcooper@lrac.com.

FLEX TIME

Parents - On a trial basis, we would like to provide the summertime privilege of letting member children ages 12 - 14 be at the Club unaccompanied by parents from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday. In order for this to work, we ask that children adhere to certain rules which are outlined on the consent form below. Please review this information with them and return the signed form to the Club before you intend to drop off your children. Thank you for your cooperation.

SWIM CHALLENGE

Swim laps September 1 - October 18 for prizes. One length of the pool earns you 1 point. Accumulate 650 points, win a water bottle. High point winner receives a $50 gift certificate to the LRAC Pro Shop. Ages 10+. Register at the Front Desk or in the Aquatics Office. Fee: $8.

LITTLE ROCKERS MARATHON

Hey Parents! It is time to get your child signed up for the 2011 Little Rockers Marathon. A total of 25.2 miles will be run during the weeks prior to the marathon. Children will complete their last mile on Saturday, March 5. This program will be designed and administered by the LRAC trainers and DUC staff. Training will begin on October 12, 2010. TRICK, TREAT & SPLASH

Parents bring your pirates, superheroes and princesses to our foggy bog (lap pool) for a scary swim suit competition, haunting water games, trick or treating in and out of the water and oogly goodie bags. Friday, October 22, 4:30 - 6:00 pm. This event is complimentary.

HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL

Attention all Mummies (and Dads)! Drop your little monsters off in their Halloween costumes for fun, games, contests, face painting, spooky maze and lots of treats (no tricks). Participants must pre-register with the DUC, 225-3601, ext. 335.

BROWN BAG EVENT FOR RICE DEPOT

It’s the time of year for giving! Pick up a brown bag at the Front Desk, Tennis Desk or Aquatics Office starting Monday, November 1. Fill the bag with nonperishable food items and return to the Aquatics Office by Thursday, November 18. We'll see that it makes it safely to the hardworking folks at the Arkansas Rice Depot.
