Cardio Equipment

Adult members have priority on all cardiovascular equipment. Children, ages 8 and older, are welcome to join a parent or guardian on any cardiovascular equipment except for treadmills. All children under the age of 15 are prohibited from using treadmills for safety reasons.

Weight Floor Certification

Any child over the age of 9 and under the age of 15 who desires to use the lower weight floor must become “weight floor certified.” The certification involves participating in a series of training sessions led by a weight floor staff member. Your child will be trained on weight floor etiquette and proper lifting technique. As part of the certification, the weight floor staff member will identify which pieces of equipment your child may use and develop a resistance training program for your child. After passing the certification, your child will be eligible to use the lower weight floor as described below.

You may start the certification process by approaching any available weight floor staff member. If they do not have a previously scheduled appointment, they will be glad to get your child started. Or, you may contact the Membership Office to schedule an appointment.

Weight Floor Usage

Predominantly, our weight training equipment is designed for adult use and adults have priority on all weight floor equipment. If you are interested in resistance training for your child, we highly recommend doing so under the tutelage of a certified personal trainer that has experience working with children.

No children under the age of 15 are allowed on the upper weight floor. Usage of the lower weight floor (same level as the track) by age group is as follows: Children, ages 9 and under, are not allowed on the weight floor. Children, ages 10 to 12, must be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian and must be weight floor certified. Direct supervision is defined as being in the same place at the same time as your child. Children, ages 13 to 14 who are weight floor certified, may workout on the lower weight floor, unsupervised by a parent or guardian (but one must be on the premises), as long as a weight floor staff member is on duty. Weight floor staff members are scheduled Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to noon. For safety reasons, there is “zero tolerance” for playing on the weight floor.

Fitness Staff Hours

Monday: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and 4:00 - 8:00 pm

Tuesday: 3:30 – 8:00 pm

Wednesday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and 3:30 - 8:00 pm

Thursday: 3:30 – 8:00 pm

Friday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

Saturday: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
